Sustainability
At Marina & Pau we understand sustainability as the compatibility of economic and social growth with environmental conservation through a balanced increase in productivity (producing more, consuming fewer resources, and generating less waste) to improve the quality of life of both present and future generations. To achieve this, we have decided to focus our efforts on the following SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT goals promoted by the UNITED NATIONS.
END OF POVERTY. As a private sector company, being the engine of economic growth, we promote economic opportunities for people with fewer resources by focusing on the segments of the economy where the majority of these individuals work, such as micro and small enterprises, and those operating in the informal economy.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS. Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages is one of the essential goals for sustainable development. We develop products suitable for all ages, free from harmful substances according to current regulations, and as non-pharmacological therapy to improve the emotional well-being of individuals affected by some form of dementia.
DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH. We promote development-oriented company policies that support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation. From the beginning, we have implemented measures to eradicate forced labour, protect labour rights, and promote a safe and secure working environment for all employees. Our goal is to progressively improve our production and the efficient consumption of our resources.
REDUCTION OF INEQUALITIES. We advocate for equal opportunities and implement salary and social protection policies to progressively achieve greater equality across all our positions.
RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION. Through internal plans, we have significantly reduced waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse schemes. 80% of our suppliers are considered local or within a proximity range of less than 50 km, following the concept of "Km 0" sourcing. Annually, we contribute the economic cost associated with placing our packaging on the market for its recovery, recycling, and reuse. We are committed to the use of organic materials for the clothes of our dolls.
PARTNERSHIPS TO ACHIEVE THE GOALS. We are part of various regional and national business associations that, among other objectives, implement investment promotion systems in favour of less developed countries and strive to improve North-South regional and international cooperation.
